What was the inspiration behind your design? (ie. time, place, material, other item etc.)

We were looking to create statement clocks that were different. I discovered these minimalist floating mobiles and wondered if we could design this floating clock.

A mobile's design features many small hanging elements but with minimal damage left on the wall.  I wanted to take that advantage of the mobile concept and turn it into a clock. Hangtime includes all of the indicators, while providing the illusion of it floating on your wall due to the clear strings and minimal installation.

Were there any challenges along the way? (ie. material, manufacturing, costing, etc.)

Keeping the wooden balls in the right place was the first thing we needed to make sure of. Each ball had to be in the right spot to act as an indicator.

Also making sure it's easy to assemble and packages nicely, so that the strings don't tangle.

What is your favourite part about the product?

I enjoy the 3-D element and illusion of this minimalist design. If wind hits the clock the wooden indicators will slightly move, adding some interactive movement.

My other favourite part is that you only need to two screws for installation.

What makes this product different/unique/better compared to everything else on the market?

Hangtime is a mobile clock, but unlike other clocks, its unique illusion and floating element makes it stand out.
